Meet Matthew - Guitar Teacher

With over 20 years as a professional musician, producer and composer, Matthew brings a diverse and holistic approach to his teaching.

Matthew started the dreampop band Trespassers William in his native Orange County, CA at the age of 17 and the band quickly had regional success in the LA music scene. That success led to record deals with Bella Union (UK) and Nettwerk (Canada), worldwide tours opening for the likes of Morrissey and Damien Rice while also landing placements in such shows as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the OC.

Relocating to Seattle in 2005 he started working as a freelance record producer, engineer and mixer and has produced and played on countless records since then. He also continued to expand his musical talent by playing with local artists The Soft Hills, Shannon Stephens and Chris Staples and has worked on film scores for local director Megan Griffiths (The Nightstalker, Eden).

After a few years working and playing in Germany Matthew returned to Seattle in 2018. Now hoping to give back to the generous Seattle music community, he’s excited to share his enthusiasm for the possibilities that a love for music can unlock - whether it’s the joy of playing a song you love on the couch or taking to the stage and sharing one’s passion.
