Meet Hanae - Voice and Piano Teacher
Hanae Straub holds a Master of Music Education from Washington State University and is a dedicated music educator, director, and homeschooling mother of three daughters based in Queen Creek, Arizona. She maintains an active private studio and is passionate about creating a nurturing, engaging environment where students of all ages can grow in both skill and confidence.
At the heart of Hanae’s teaching is a belief that music education should be deeply personal and accessible. She tailors each lesson to the individual student, meeting them where they are and guiding them toward their goals with clarity and encouragement. She specializes in the Kodály Method, emphasizing strong musical literacy through high-quality repertoire and research-based teaching practices such as solfège, Curwen hand signs, and takadimi rhythm. Her approach equips students with lasting musicianship skills while fostering a genuine love of music.
In addition to her private teaching, Hanae serves as a music director for local programs, where she brings her passion for storytelling, performance, and collaboration to young performers. Whether in the studio or in rehearsal, she is committed to cultivating both musical excellence and a positive, meaningful experience for every student.
Hanae’s background as a classically trained soprano includes performing in recitals, concerts, and theatrical productions, with favorite roles including the title role in The Merry Widow, Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, and Adele in Die Fledermaus. She has also earned top placements in regional and state competitions and has experience adjudicating and preparing students for performance opportunities. These experiences continue to shape her teaching, providing students with a strong technical foundation and an understanding of expressive, confident performance.
