Meet Rachel - Guitar & Classical Guitar Teacher

Hi! My name is Rachael, and music is my passion!
I feel so lucky to have a life filled with music in every way.

My journey with guitar began when I was 13, when my dad's best friend surprised me with my very first guitar and taught me how to play "Clocks" by Coldplay. Although I eventually learned other instruments, guitar has always been my first love. My parents quickly noticed I was becoming completely obsessed with fingerpicking and playing, so they signed me up for lessons—and I've been hooked ever since. My first guitar teacher was incredible, and constantly pushed me past what I thought I was capable to help me reach my full potential.

After graduating high school, I unexpectedly found myself in a guitar teaching position, and over 13 years later, I still absolutely love it. Watching students discover the joy of making music is one of the most rewarding parts of my life. Whether it's helping someone play their very first chord, master a song they've always wanted to learn, or accomplish something they once thought was impossible, I genuinely love being part of that journey.

ABOUT MY LESSONS
My lessons combine solid musical fundamentals with the music you already know and love. I believe students stay motivated when they're learning songs they're excited about, so I blend music theory, technique, rhythm, ear training, and proper playing habits with your favorite artists and genres.

Every lesson is tailored to the individual student's age, experience level, learning style, and personal goals. Whether you're interested in rock, pop, folk, fingerstyle, singer-songwriter music, or just want to learn enough guitar to play around the campfire, I'll create lessons that keep you challenged while making learning fun. My goal is to help every student build confidence, develop strong musicianship, and enjoy the process every step of the way.

BACKGROUND
I recently graduated from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences with a master's-level education in Audio Engineering, where I expanded my understanding of music production, recording, and live sound. This experience has given me a deeper appreciation for how music works both on stage and behind the scenes.

While I love working in professional audio, teaching guitar will always hold a special place in my heart. There's nothing quite like seeing a student's face light up when they finally nail a riff, perform a favorite song, or realize just how much they've grown. My hope is to inspire a lifelong love of music while giving students the skills and confidence to continue exploring long after our lessons together.
