Meet Emily - Piano Teacher

I’ve been studying piano since I was five years old, and I learned to read music before I could read words. The arts, especially music, have always felt like a second language to me, and it’s something I am genuinely excited to share with my students.

In high school, I became immersed in music of all kinds, studying accordion, drums, and voice alongside my long-time piano and dance training. Performance quickly became a central part of my life, especially through musical theatre, where I found both my passion and my community. I grew up loving the stage and rarely missed an opportunity to perform - whether in productions, talent shows, or open mic nights. These experiences allow me to bring a well-rounded, creative approach to my lessons.

I had the opportunity to study under an incredible teacher, Mr. Marco Garza, who continues to be one of the most inspiring people in my life. His mentorship shaped not only my musicianship, but also the kind of teacher I strive to be - encouraging, passionate, and deeply invested in each student’s growth.

I live in San Tan Valley with my husband, Andrew and our three boys, one of whom is already avidly studying music. Outside of teaching, I enjoy photography, home schooling, writing children’s books and musical scripts, and recently had the opportunity to direct my first musical. Being both a teacher and a parent gives me a unique perspective, and my goal is to help students not only grow in skill, but also to develop a lifelong love of music and confidence in themselves.
