Alistair is an enthusiastic cellist with over 10 years of experience performing, educated by top cellists Efe Baltacigil and Eric Han from the Seattle Symphony. He has performed in the most advanced Seattle Youth Symphony, All-State, and All-Northwest orchestras. He has experience at Meadowmount School of Music, Curtis Conservatory of Music, and Interlochen Center for the Arts. He has a strong motivation to share knowledge about cello practice and performance. He is currently looking for students who are passionate about music and want to have fun with their musical journey.

Alistair specializes in teaching the Suzuki books, Popper Etudes, and famous concertos. He offers in-person lessons or remote-learning via Zoom and Skype. A typical lesson with him will include a warm- up, scales and arpeggios, and working on pieces of music. Lessons will also integrate ear training, music theory, and music history. Lessons will be easy to follow along with and will include homework for practice.

Alistair also has experience with composition, piano, guitar, bass, and singing in varying styles of music. For fun, Alistair writes electronic music and records singers and instruments. He also plays in a chamber ensemble with his neighbor in Redmond, WA. Before COVID-19, Alistair performed in retirement homes and memory-care facilities to brighten up people’s day.

Alistair’s cello studio welcomes new students of any level, beginner to advanced. Whether you are looking to compete or just enjoy music for fun, this is the studio for you!
