Meet Trevor - Piano, Guitar, Classical Guitar Teacher

Trevor is a musician with 12 years of professional experience. He attended the USC Thornton School of Music, where he had the incredible opportunity to study with master musicians such as Patrice Rushen (Grammy award nominated pianist/composer, musical director of the Grammy's), Andrew Norman, (Pulitzer Prize finalist, Grammy award winner), and Andy Abad (guitarist for Jennifer Lopez) among others. He's learned a lot along his musical journey, and is really excited to share his knowledge of music with others!

Trevor is an experienced teacher and has worked with the 4/4 School of Music and at School of Rock Issaquah in addition to AWSOM. There he taught guitar, bass and piano. He also has worked with with community outreach programs where he directed a middle school jazz band, a choir and taught private lessons. 

Trevor tries to tailor his lessons to what the student is interested in, while still building a solid foundation of musical ability and knowledge of theory. He believes that students do their best when they are exploring and curious about music, so he always seek to provide the material that makes each student excited.

Trevor teaches students of all ages and abilities. He works frequently with young kids, and always finds it inspiring to help children find a love for music in their lives, whatever role that is. He is proficient in all sorts of styles, including jazz, pop, rock, classical, RnB and funk music. 

In his own professional life, Trevor started his own concert series, Blue Concerts with the intent of bringing disparate, innovative music from different musical traditions into the same intimate space. Trevor has played extensively in the Seattle and Los Angeles live music scenes, playing everywhere from The Triple Door, to the Mint in LA, to Studio 7. Trevor also writes film scores. He has composed and produced music for filmmakers Nathan Ginter, Davey Huang and Anthony D'Edita. He writes music for film, for the concert hall and for his own pop and rock bands.
