Meet Robby - Piano, Voice, and Guitar Teacher

I am a dedicated music educator, multi-instrumentalist, and Seattle-based artist committed to helping students grow as musicians and as confident, creative thinkers. I teach beginning to intermediate voice, guitar, and piano, bringing a versatile skill set that supports learners with different interests, learning styles, and musical goals.

As an active musician under his artist project “Luvall,” I write, record, and perform original music that has been featured on KEXP and showcased at Seattle venues such as Sunset Tavern and Barboza. My stylistic range blends contemporary R&B, pop, soul, and singer-songwriter influences, giving me a unique ability to connect with students who love modern music while grounding them firmly in foundational technique. My experience as a working artist helps students understand both the discipline and the joy behind becoming a musician.

In addition, I bring a strong background in education and youth development. I have worked in supportive and coaching roles with organizations such as Harlem Children’s Zone and The Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services, where I guided youth through structured enrichment activities, skill-building lessons, and emotional development. My training in social work and social-emotional learning allows me to create a warm, patient, and encouraging environment in every lesson.

My teaching philosophy centers on balancing structure with creativity. I focus on core skills- rhythm, technique, tone, chords, breath support, musical expression- while also encouraging improvisation, exploration, and songwriting when appropriate. My goal is to keep lessons engaging, thoughtful, and tailored to each student.

Above all, I strive to make music fun, accessible, and confidence-building. I believe in meeting every student where they are, helping them set achievable goals, celebrating progress, and nurturing a lifelong love for music. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach, inspire, and support each family I work with through AWSOM.
