Meet Joseph - Piano Teacher

Joseph is a life long resident of Washington, a graduate of the University of WA with a minor in music/piano. He has been teaching students for over 20 years of all age groups and is well versed in and enjoys all musical genres (classical, pop, Jazz, theatre/musicals, improvisational, experimental).

Joseph loves to teach the joy of music thru a tailored approach to each student based on their skills, with a review as well of their aptitudes and interests. In addition, Joseph is especially focused on developing proper practice techniques to maximize progress, and will integrate this with music theory, ear training, and public performance perparation. Quantifying progress is also key for the student and Joseph is keen to benchmark testing based on the ADRSM and others.
Joseph has worked as a film score composer, accompanist on piano for flute and string classical performances, and worked locally over many years additionally as keyboardist with a variety of pop entertainment groups covering many genre’s-these include the Jeanna Stone Band, FX, Halo, Mystic Pop, among others. He is also very well versed and experienced with digital recording including Pro-Tools, FL Studio, and LogicPro, having run his own recording studio.

Joseph most of all believes in teaching the joy and fun that music can be, with a base of proper practice and learning techniques for maximum results!
