Meet Addy - Voice & Piano Teacher

Soprano Addy Sterrett has been praised for her “focused, ethereal…crystalline tone and adept precision” (Academy of Sacred Drama) and enjoys exploring a wide variety of solo and ensemble repertoire. She recently received a master's degree in Early Music Voice at Yale University’s Institute of Sacred Music. Recent engagements include the U.S. premiere of Joseph Kraus’ Requiem with Voices of Ascension, Bach's St. John Passion, Ein feste Burg (BWV 80) and Magnificat (BWV 243), Mendelssohn’s Hör mein Bitten, Hasse’s Miserere in C minor, and Handel’s Occasional Oratorio. Sterrett has worked with conductors David Hill, Masaaki Suzuki, Grete Pedersen, and Simon Carrington. Addy is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and holds a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University where she performed the roles of Beth (Little Women, Adamo) and Ottavia (L’incoronazione di Poppea). Sterrett is passionate about performing music of living composers and has worked with David Lang, Mark Adamo, and Roberto Sierra. She was recently in residence at Avaloch Farm Music Institute with her band, SugarCave. Addy was raised in a musical family in beautiful Northern Michigan and has a deep appreciation for the outdoors. She attributes much of her success to her incredibly supportive parents, brother Walden and sister Leelanee.
