Meet Megan - Associate Woodwinds Teacher
Megan Grady is an active performer, clinician and instructor of both clarinet and piano. Megan holds her master’s in clarinet performance from Florida State University and her bachelor’s in music from The College of William & Mary in Virginia. As a clarinetist, she has been a featured alumni for the Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity Triennial Conference and was the winner of the William & Mary Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.Megan currently performs with the South Sound Symphonic Band and the Washington Wind Symphony; additionally, she has been a substitute with Symphony Tacoma, the Rainier Symphony and other area groups. She specializes in wind ensemble literature and frequently clinics with area high schools. Her teaching focus is on supporting students to foster a positive, lifelong relationship with music.
Originally from the Washington D.C. metro area, Megan relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2015. She currently serves as the Music Recruitment Coordinator for the University of Puget Sound School of Music. Megan also maintains a small studio of clarinet and piano students in the Tacoma area. Her teachers include Larry Bocaner, Patti Carlson, Deborah Bish, Frank Kowalsky, and Peggy Dees. She has performed in masterclasses for Sidney Forrest, Lawrie Bloom, Dan Gilbert and Diane Barger.
